Have been busy planting my new plants; as you can see, the classic advice of planting sweeps of 3 or 5 of the same plants together has definitely been ignored, they are all jumbled together, Partly because I just like the effect, but also because I need to test their durability particularly their ability to resist slugs. Then the survivors will be duplicated (over and over again…)

The purple patchwork is now quilted with closely spaced straight lines. I’m inching closer to the point at which I shall have to get on and actually make it up into the bag it is intended for, which I am still “designing”, and is why I’m dragging my heels somewhat.

And my new labels have had their first and second outings;

Happy days!

Thursday

Another day of bits and bobs. More quilting, a few new plants to add to my pots, coffee and tea cakes, and best of all, sunshine. The swimming pool was very busy this afternoon, as was the garden centre; nice to be out and about enjoying it!

My blanket box is finished, I’m rather pleased with it, and it’s already in use

I’ve started cutting pieces for a new (quick) project

I’m hoping to get this small patchwork item pieced in the next day or two….

Not much to report

Haven’t done very much today worth reporting; it was an overcast, grey , cold day here, not very inspiring. Went out for coffee (again) and bought a few more plants, had a little nap, and started prepping my newly acquired thrifted blanket box, ready for painting.

I’ve also been trying to get my little compact camera working as I think it might lead to better pictures. Not much progress yet, watch this space.

Next item, making a list of future sewing and craft projects, which is looking a bit daunting at the moment, but at least I won’t run out of things to do in the near future….

Also I need to get out and do some gardening, and paint some woodwork, and clean the house…

A finish!

Have had a lovely weekend, and quite productive.

I finished my new quilt

After a bit of a battle with the free motion quilting, it is all done. FMQ is definitely a learned skill; I need a lot more hours of practise before I can count myself a “proper” FMQer. But I’ve made a start.

I also spent a bit of time in the garden. This azalea (?) is condemned, and is having its final fling before I remove it

2 trips to town, with 3 nice cups of coffee, and a new yellow linen top

A day off

Finally, a day off!

I found some “Sungold” tomatoes, and marigolds to go with them. Just hope we don’t have a damp summer and get blight …

I also started quilting my latest quilt, after dealing with a little problem….

my shame

I have cleaned my machine (!) and set off quilting; I’m doing a FMQ pattern because I want to be able to do freehand patterns, and if I don’t practice I’ll never learn.

Watch this space…
